Discover Treasures of South Indochina 10days
Tripcode: DTSI10D

  • Private tour & for your group only
  • Date of departure is at your wish
  • Start from HCMC & end in Siem Reap or vice versa.

Indochina is a land of contrasts, where foreign cultures clash with ancient values and technological advancement goes hand in hand with a centuries old way of life.

Rice paddy fields and buffalos meet bustling urban metropolises, where hand drawn carts jostle for space with motorbikes – nowhere else in the world quite exhibits the contrast between old and new like Southeast Asia.

And now, for those looking to explore the urban chic, wonderful nature and charming heritage of this exotic corner of the world, a new ten-day tour from Luxury Travel looks to have all the bases covered, taking in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Beginning in Vietnam’s dynamic capital, also known as Saigon, you will be able to explore the city’s colorful markets, its designer shops and its delicious foods.

The legendary Cu Chi Tunnels offer a chance to relive the horrors of the Vietnam War, while an eclectic religious ceremony at the Cao Daism temple provides an insight into a unique fusion of the region’s most prominent religions.

To explore the traditional side of life in Vietnam, you can also take a longboat trip around the Mekong Delta and its charming narrow canals.

From Saigon, you fly to Siem Reap in Cambodia. Teeming with exquisite natural beauty, gorgeous architecture and an orgy of history, the ancient city of Cambodia is fast becoming one of Southeast Asia’s must-see attractions. Angkor Wat is resplendent as the world’s largest religious monument – a true wonder of the world.

Local charm and untold luxury are combined with fun-filled activities in this action packed Southeast Asian tour. Accommodation is provided in hotel state rooms where no comfort is spared, including a daily breakfast together with a candlelit dinner each night.

Other activities include a health and beauty spa, guided visits to local museums, dance classes, full-day shopping trips and a charted boat cruise on the famous Tonle Sap Lake.

Day 3: Cao Dai Temples & Cu Chi Tunnels (B/L)

This morning we drive to Cao Dai Temples in Tay Ninh to observe the midday service. Following lunch we will drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels and then return to HCMC at around 6 pm.
Tay Ninh, near the Cambodian border, is home to the unique Cao Dai sect, whose patron saints include Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill to name a few. The religion is a hybrid of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Christianity.
The Cao Dai Temple at Tay Ninh has been described as a Walt Disney fantasia of the East. The temple's exterior is decorated with multi-colored dragons of all shapes and sizes competing for space with a number of religious symbols. Above the main entrance is the all-seeing holy eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai sect. The interior is just as engaging as statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha and the Hindu god, Brahma, stand side by side.

The trip to Tay Ninh is combined with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. At its height, the tunnel system stretched over 250km. from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life during the U.S.-Vietnam War must have been like. Overnight in HCMC.

Angkor Wat was built between 1112 and 1152 by King Suryavarman II and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation, although some people believe it is actually dedicated to the king himself as the temple faces west, representing death. It is the best preserved of all the temples. From here we proceed to the hilltop temple of Phnom Bakheng , and as the end of the day approaches, we climb the imposing remains for a truly memorable sunset. Dinner and enjoy watching Khmer Folk of charming Apsara dance show at local restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 8: Angkor Thom Discovery (B/L)

We start visiting Angkor Thom without delay. This will includes the South Gate , Bayon with 4 giants faces, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Angkor Thom was a royal city with a moat and 3km perimeter wall. It was the last capital of Angkor . Arrive Bayon - the giant stone faces of the Bayon are today the most recognizable images of Khmer art. There are 37 towers, most adorned with four carved faces oriented toward the cardinal points.

In the afternoon, we drive a 45 km to Bantaey Srei and Bantaey Kdei. Banteay Srey means "citadel of the women". However, this modern translation probably refers to the delicate beauty of the carvings. The walls are covered with carvings and its relatively small size, pink sandstone building material and delicate designs give a fairytale feel to the place. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 9: Marvelous Angkor Wat (B/L)

Following the breakfast we explore the magnificent Angkor Wat. From here We proceed to the summit Phnom Bakheng Temple to watch the memorable sunset over the Angkor Wat. In all its aspects, Angkor Wat is breathtaking. It is a shaped like a massive, three tiered pyramid crowned by five beehive-like towers which rise 65 metres above the ground. Angkor Wat is the highlight of any visit to the temples of Angkor . Overnight in Siem Reap.

Donna & Peter Wilson - Sydney Australia

Marshall and I have just returned from our two-week trip to Viet Nam.The trip was PERFECT- we had excellent weather, we loved the country and its people, and the arrangements that you made for us were luxurious in every way. The hotels were first class, we were met by representatives of Luxury Travel at every stop, our guides and drivers were superb, especially Lock who accompanied us on the Mekong Delta, and the lunch places you arranged for us (an unexpected extra) were fabulous. We are so grateful to Luxury Travel for treating us like royalty, and so happy that we found you on the Internet. To be honest, I was a little worried at first dealing with a Vietnamese company we did not know. But your company exceeded our expectations in every way and we would be happy to recommend Luxury Travel to one and all. As far as  we are concerned, YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!   Thank you very much for all your efforts in making our trip so comfortable, wonderful, and memorable tours.
